Doctor availability status
Doctor availability status, live on every patient's phone
With DoctorIn, reception sets the doctor's status to Available, In Surgery or Break with one tap on a PIN-protected page. Patients who scan the clinic's QR stand, or open the clinic's page from home, see the current status straight away, so they can decide whether to wait, step out or come later.

What do the three statuses mean?
| Status | What patients understand |
|---|---|
| Available | The doctor is in the clinic and seeing patients. |
| In Surgery | The doctor is in surgery or a procedure and not consulting right now. |
| Break | The doctor is on a short break and will be back. |
The three labels are the same on the reception panel and the patient page, so there is never a mismatch between what the desk sets and what patients read.
Who updates the status, and how?
Reception does, from the PIN-protected page at /admin. It opens in the browser of any staff phone or counter tablet; there is no app to install. Changing the status is one tap, and the patient page shows the new status straight away.
The same panel moves the live token forward, so the desk manages both from one screen.
Where do patients see the doctor's status?
At the top of the clinic's page, next to the doctor's name and the running token. Patients reach that page by scanning the QR stand at reception, or by opening the clinic's link, which also works from home before they set out.
Why show the doctor's status at all?
Patients in a waiting room mostly want two answers: is the doctor here, and how long until my turn? When the answer lives only with the receptionist, patients queue at the desk or call the clinic to ask, often in the words "Doctor garu eppudostharu?" A visible status answers that question for everyone at once, and the desk gets time back for the patient in front of it.
It also sets expectations honestly. If the doctor is in surgery, patients can see that and plan around it instead of guessing.
Does the status show anything private?
No. It shows one of three labels for the doctor. No patient names, no reasons and no medical information appear on the page. See security for how the reception panel is protected.
Which plans include doctor status?
Smart Clinic (₹14,999 one-time) and Multispecialty Pro (₹24,999 one-time). Starter Desk gives you the clinic page, directions and WhatsApp booking, without the status toggle or the token board. Compare everything on the pricing page.
